Kermit, Texas Sink Hole in Winkler County Texas called Wink Sink 2. The second of two sinks, this one is about 1000 feet in diameter. It covers approximately 18 acres, opened in 2004, and it appears to still be growing. This picture shows the vertical parting of the walls along the West and North walls. WARNING! This is NOT a tourists attraction. site of roy orbison's boyhood home Wink Sink 1. This is the first of two sink holes in Winkler County Texas. WS1 opened in 1982 and is approximately 300 feet in diameter. At about 1.5 acres, WS1 is about 1/12 the areal extent of WS2. WS1 no longer produces catastrophic collapse but does have associated sag cracks that extend well beyond the actual hole. WARNING! This is NOT a tourists attraction. Wink
