Destinations: The Park covers 71, 920 Hectares of lowland forest and swamp in southern Viet Nam and is home to numerous birds and mammals. It is approximately 160 km (100 miles) north east of Ho Chi Minh City, from which it is accessible in approximately 3 hours. One of Vietnam's most important and largest National Parks, it is mostly situated at the northern edge of Ðông Nam Bô (South-eastern) region, but includes southern edge of Tây Nguyên (the Western Highlands). The Javan rhinoceros still exists in the Cat Loc area, which is the last remaining population of this species on the Asian mainland. Other mammals include: a number of primate species including the endemic golden-cheeked gibbon, elephant, gaur and tiger. Many birds can be found, including such specialities as Germain's peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and the rare endemic orange-necked partridge.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: SaiGon - CatTien National Park. (L, D)

07. 30 Departure from your hotel. Take us about 1. 5 hour to get out the busy traffic and head on to VinhCuu district - DongNai province.

09. 30 Start Cycling ~35km on quiet countryside road to CatTien Park. This forest area used to be the head quarter of Vietnamese army during the war. We arrive at the ranger post, meeting our Cat Tien Park ranger, transfer luggage & water to our 4wd jeep, then climb up the challenging slopes, 20 km up and down.

Be careful: wild elephants!! We are Cycling through the elephant activities area, so we should keep together and following instruction of our ranger.

Picnic lunch break. We keep on Cycling to TaLai ethnic minority village, then going through the buffer zone to head quarter of CatTien Park. Maximum Cycling distance today ~ 75km.

Day 2: Ficus Benjamina route (CaySi) - Trek - Saigon (B, L)

07. 00 Start Cycling 16km through forest to DakLua area. From here we start trekking 2km to this interesting eco-system of semi-evergreen forest and wetland-flooded-evergreen forest: the Ficus benjamina group. Located in an area of 3 ha, the highest level belong to family of Moraceae (Dau tam) such as: F. benjamina, F racemora, Flacourtiaceae, Hychaearpus etc. .

The trek path has a lot of tuff rocks “product of vocalnic craters million years ago.

We also see huge trees of Lagerstromenia ovalfolia and several kind of birds.

Then we cycle 16km back, with a short stop over Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus tectorius (Trung quan), Afzelia cyclocarpa (Go~) and BenCu rapids.

Shower & late lunch at Park center, ferry crossing the river. We goodbye CatTien Park, transfer by car to Saigon.
