Surprisingly good with tasty food and deserts. It's probably actually a 3 but from first impression I expected a 2 so the feeling was overall very positive. :)

Café/restaurant near the train station and shopping streets. It's very Swedish in its offers and interior, that tends to be rather tacky and cheap.

Good salads, cakes and other tasty things in Karlstad. Very close to the central station.
It's in the upper floor, so you need to carry your luggage up the stairs. It is well worth it, though, given the alternatives in this area.
The ingredients are not organic (hence no 5 stars), but very fresh. All salads are made to order. I recommend the avocado salad with artichokes instead of chicken.
