Cars in lot are OK but during peak times they can keep you waiting for hrs for a car. Even with a reservation and even once they swipe your card and print your contract. They are also extremely strict on you having that blue entrance visa they give you in the airport.

They gave me a pretty old car. The place is crowded of people during the Jewish holidays and I had to wait like one and a half hour for the car to get available. The staff is really nice and patient.

Scammers!
Do not honor reservation and nor the rate made by the Sixt App. Wanted to charge 80% more insurance that was already included in the rate!

Rented a vehicle. Agents were flexible and understanding. First car they gave me had screechy brakes so they switched it for another. Paperwork and sign-up process took a bit too long, but apparently this is common in Israel.

We reserved and paid for a simple, small car online weeks in advance of the holiday season. A few days into our vacation, we arrived at the store. The scene was grim: a man slumped over the counter, head in his hands; a solemn family sitting silently on the floor; a man with a leg cast sighing on the window sill; a child crying and asking for a bathroom, to which the clerk responded, "There isn't one."

Despite the reality which was sinking in, we held our hopes high as we approached the counter.

"Can I help you?" the clerk asked, without looking up at us.

"Yes," we said, still refusing to face the somber situation, "we reserved a car." She took my name.

"Well," she said, "we don't have any cars. If you want, I can add you to the waiting list. You're 8th in line."

I blinked a few times. "No," I said, "I already paid for the car."

She blinked. "We have no cars."

"What do you mean?"

She became frustrated. "It's the holiday season. Lots of people reserved cars."

I thought she misunderstood. "No," I said again, "we reserved and paid for the car weeks ago."

She looked at me like I didn't understand. She spoke very slowly and clearly, "Lots of people reserved cars. We don't have any more cars."

My partner and I exchanged glances, and the reality finally set in.

Apparently, at this company, reserving a car simply means you would *like* to receive a car and that the company is maybe thinking about letting you borrow one, if they happen to have it on hand when you show up. Paying for the car in advance means nothing more.

So our vacation, planned meticulously weeks in advance, and paid for in advance, all pivoted around this company's terrible business model, whereby they let people rent and pay for cars that they do not have.

We ended up having to take multiple buses to our destination instead, and rented a car through a Budget branch in Afula (which went smoothly.)

As we were leaving the Sixt to catch a bus, one of the two clerks followed us out, "Bye," she told her coworker. "I'm going to the mall."
