There is always an excuse from basil.
The noise seems to crop up a bit when you filter through feedback.
PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!
This is a 2nd review. As the rules state.that each person in the party are allowed to review.
There were 4 of us.!
The owner of this hotel is a joke.
Comes out with a load of rubbish when responding to any complaints.
I would advise anyone looking to stay at this hotel to not bother. Go elsewhere.

When anyone complains. He always has a lousy excuse.

"On another review someone complained that it was noisy! Basils response was. It could not have been as there was NO entertainment!!!..."

And yes he did blame the neighbours for making the noise!. "You know private houses always have live entertainment going on!"
1 night was more than enough at your dive Hole of a hotel.

Arrived tired?? No we left tired.!!

Why should I get out of bed at 23:30-23:45 to ask them to shut the door.. how about they shut the door anyway!..

Just another point to make to families with young children. The family rooms are outside next to the designated smoking area! Great idea Mr faulty........

********************************************

We have just returned from a 1 night stay.
2 adults and 2 children
We were placed in an outside chalet room.
The rooms are nothing special but would have done the job.
Cracked plaster on the ceilings.
Creaky beds.
Shower that works as and when it wants to. Even though both the taps are on full.
4 of us were staying and we were given 2 mugs. And they were dirty!. Good job they do not use white mugs.(brown)
Come bed time for the children 10pm. The noise was ridiculously high.
They had Singers in the hotel, this went on until at least 11:30 -11:45. and then we were left with drunks outside smoking etc.
When we complained about this the next morning we were advised that the bar door must have been open! BUT! Since we have been home the response has changed, Now it was the neighbours over the back playing music, (I don't think so!!!. ) but I have drafted a letter to send to them advising them that the hotel is accusing them of this..
They have spoken to other people and they did not hear anything! That's because the people they asked were probably the ones making the noise!.

And believe me this was an awful night.

We were so annoyed we did not even want their breakfast, but I was not to keen anyway after seeing condiments left uncovered all afternoon/evening and this is basic food hygiene breach.

This hotel is a place that requires a massive overhaul.
Everything looks dull. Inside and out.
Wooden paneling at the rear around the roofline looks rotten, but painted over.
They seem to like dark decor! Maybe it hides the dirt better... oh no" sorry this is a tudor look"

Anyway I look for to your response!
I will also update you on any feedback from your neighbours.

This is a nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are dated but they are clean and the bed was fine. The food is not haute cuisine but it is good, wholesome food, well cooked and good portions. The breakfast is a hot buffet with cereals, fruit juice etc., all very good.

The location is just off the coast road but it's a minutes walk to the beach and bus stop. There is a small store almost next door where you can buy supplies for the day.

Excellent service, great location. Bus service really convenient. Couldn't have been a much better stay.

The best way to describe this hotel is meh.
The rooms were old and battered like the rest of the hotel. Every room needs a lick of paint and renovation. Radiators were rusty, beds had pieces falling off, wallpaper had stickers on it to try and make it pretty and these stickers were falling off, there were cobwebs on windowsills and cracks in the paint and finally the floor in the bathroom was so disgustingly dirty that everytime you get out of the shower brown water would accumulate on the floor.
At £115 a night you expect your soap to be replenished every morning and the floors to be clean.
However, the staff were wonderful. Can't emphasize enough that the staff were lovely people and nothing was too much.
It was a happy place to be but it was stuck in the past, expensive and dirty.

Run down rooms. Bunk beds in front of windows. 70's decor. No fans in rooms in a heatwave so you have to keep windows open and listen to the noise from the live entertainment and the people drinking and smoking outside in the garden. Our children could not sleep at all and we were all awake until midnight when the noise had finally calmed down. Restaurant hygiene not nice. Open pots of sauce left out all day with the back door open and flies near them. The tv in the room was tiny. There was no working WiFi. There were not enough cups in the room. The pool was nice but we were not allowed to use hotel towels outside which is a bit mean. The shower has no pressure. We decided not to stay for breakfast as we had really not enjoyed our stay and we're concerned about the hygiene. On leaving we told the lady on reception everything and especially about the noise all night. She was apologetic and said the back door should have been closed, but that garden is the smoking area so I'm sure it is always the same. We had paid £100 before arrival and still had £44 to pay, which even after not staying for breakfast and being very upset about our stay was still taken from our card nearly a week later ! So they are storing card details too. Beware. Be warned. Book somewhere else and enjoy your trip.
