Been here before as i organized a birthday party in the past so I thought it'd be a good idea to take my girlfriend here as the experience was memorable. Sat in the garden courtyard. Our table was unbalanced but understandable as the ground was tapered for flow reasons. Our server was missing 80% of the night even thought he only had 1 table - ours. Don't remember what we ordered but it was from yaletown's 'dine out' menu. We waited for our food for awhile but without the server around we couldn't voice our dissatisfaction. The general manager made his rounds the restaurant and stopped at ours - wished me a happy birthday which was nice. But aside from that the experience was 'meh'.

To sum it up: cute setting, small portion mediocre food and service could be greatly improved. I gave it 1 star for the courtyard. It’s a cute setting and I don’t even care that the ivy on the walls is fake. But staff was less than welcoming and the food was disappointing. The blonde waitress who greeted us could try a bit harder to be friendly. But it was really the food that turned us off. We had prosciutto wrapped scallops for appetizer. An $18 dish with TWO scallops. My husband and I joked about it: "one for me, one for you". I wouldn’t mind the price tag and small portion if it were delicious, but it was just okay. Then the main dishes came. My duck breast was medium rare (more on the rare side). I can’t stomach pink, bloody meat, so my husband and I swapped dishes - I don't like to send food back. The waiter noticed we had swapped dishes, so I explained I don’t eat medium rare meat, and he apologized saying that he forgot to tell me that all their dishes are cooked medium rare. I wish I had known or been asked how I wanted it cooked. Anyway, the cod dish my husband ordered wasn’t anything special either. Disappointed.

2nd time in a week and a half. We originally came back for our wedding anniversary as it's the place we had our first date. Awesome food and great service still. Came back for a business function tonight but the set menu was still excellent. Well worth going great ambiance that's why they do so many weddings in the courtyard

We just had our wedding at Brix&Mortar on September 2nd, 2017 and I cannot say enough amazing things about it. Where do I even begin! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the food is out of this world and the staff were incredible. Our guests have been raving about it non stop the past few days. I cannot get over how special the night was for us, and we owe it all to Brix! The event coordinators, Jennifer and Kimberly, were so helpful and all of the night staff went above and beyond our expectations. I HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking for an option in the city. Love, love love!

On June 21, 2017, we had our wedding ceremony & reception at Brix and Mortar.
We cannot say enough about the venue and the Brix team. Jennifer guided us through the process of planning and put together an incredible dining experience for our guests and she did it all within our budget. The food was amazing.

The Brix team truly was a 'dream team' who were never more than a few feet away to make sure everyone had what they needed. Sonya was like a wedding coordinator, she directed guests, the wedding party, cued music and kept us all calm and comfortable. The venue is pure magic and everyone who attended is raving about all of the above.

Thank you Jennifer and the team who worked the day of our wedding.
