Worst bar I've ever had the experience of playing at.
My band---- last time we played, we didn't go on until well after it became SO late all of the people who came to see us left. But that was fine-- it happens sometimes.
My band once again played there last night, and we had the pleasure of experiencing yet again another terrible show. This one was a little different though.
A) the sound guy (owner) never stayed at the booth. Each band had ear splitting feedback from the mic to monitors and noone was in the sound booth to fix it. (Personal gear levels were somewhat low, but the stage mics were way too hot-- feedback everywhere!)
B) the only place for gear is in the kitchen. We had to set up our gear in the kitchen, and there were musicians moving freely from the front of house to the kitchen and most likely touching (supposedly) sanitary prep-stations without even thinking about it. Drum gear was housed on some of the counters too.
C) though I didn't physically see it, I caught wind that the owner was using a frying pan as an ash tray in the kitchen too.
D) you're paid in pocket change.
I have never had the chance to be playing in venues with backstage passes and fancy catering and big stages, and I quite frequently play decent dive bars in various cities for very little money in return, and I can sincerely say that you can never pay me enough to come back to this hole in the wall, nor could you pay me enough to eat the food here.
Do yourself a favour and eat at home, actually better yet just stay home.
I also highly encourage a surprise health inspection
