I think Italian battle for the best restaurant is at a very high level and although I don't think Uccello wins, this is extremely cozy place with decent food. Located in Ivy building, one of the flagship of Merivale, offers view on building top s and outdoor pool. Really interesting!

What's not to like about Uccello! It's in the Ivy, it serves delicious Italian food, it overlooks the pool bar, it has great drinks and it has great service. How does it do such a great job? Because Justin H is at the helm. This is the kind of restaurant you take jaded American and European visitors to, just to see their reaction. Be sure to go early for drinks around the pool before dinner. If you go in the summer, plan to stay a while. The action just gets better and better.

What an unbelievable place. The best experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Staff were very accommodating always visible and happy to help. Food was amazing, I've never had 3 courses at a restaurant before but I couldn't stop eating it. Definitely worth the price of admission and will be back in no time.

Midweek group dinner. Simple menu (a good thing), picking from four options of starters, mains and desserts. Nice warm environment. Pleasant and very capable staff. Good times.
