Excellent service, the waiter was friendly, energetic and attentive. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The food was good, on par with most local Mexican restaurants.

Now I've been going to El Tenampa for years. Never had a problem before, but the last two times I've gone have been the worst I've had at any restaurant. First I went out with friends and they got sick eating the oysters and found sand in there meal. That was last summer. This summer I go on my anniversary and lo-and-behold I get sick from what I assumed was the bean dip. Had to go home earlier and try not to throw up all over the place. I took home leftovers though from the meal I never finished. Not three bites into my meal and bite down on something sharp and hard. It was goathead. As much as my family and I love Mexican food and have gone to El Tenampa on countless occasions over the years we will most likely never go back.
