While the venue is good in layout, we queued outside for a gig and weren't let in until the support (who we really wanted to see) were half way through their set. By the time we had been served at the "Bier Keller" (serving such exotic ales as Boddington's and Stella) the band were finished as they only had one bar staff on for a sell out gig.

Not enough staff. Queued for half an hour at the bar only to be told they couldn't serve a soft drink at that part of the bar. No sign or anything mentioning this. No offer to serve me further down the bar. Absolute joke. Had to miss part of the gig waiting at the other part of the bar.

Small and intimate gig venue. Pushy security. Lots of steps and not very accessible.

Although I am local this was my first visit to the new location. Better sight lines and the bar prices match local pubs. However, the night I attended the sound engineer did such a terrible, sloppy job the concert was severely marred. Spoke with a pro engineer I know who's worked there with touring bands and he reports a good quality pa system. So unlucky timing I guess but resented, having shelled out £22 to get in.

Fibbers is a good venue for a gig but unfortunately the owners are not making the best of their facilities. We went to see the Jam'd, they were good but the sound quality was rubbish. The selection of drinks was poor and the bar staff were topping up peoples drinks with beer that had been left standing on a shelf!! We had becks which on the first mouthful was clearly off, they reluctantly changed our drinks but put the rank and overpriced beer on the shelf behind them and then (out of sight of the customers) used it to top up other people's drinks!!! (I'm sure health and safety will be interested in that dodgy practice)
