Absolutely poor hotel to stay in
1 - The room not described as the one in the advert
2 - cleanliness / Hygiene , absolutely poor , the room smells like poor hygiene and the carpets very filthy.
3 - Bugs found in bed and carpet ,
4 - Bitten by room bugs
5 - Wardrobe full of cob webs
6 - After care service extremely poor , if you make a complaint you will get a very protective response in terms of denial from above points
7 - shower bathroom very poor , smells like dirt
8 - Had to use personal bedsheets as the ones provided by hotel, smelly and unhygienic
9 - Even with the aid of air fresheners and gel , this doesn’t help getting rid of smell in room.
Avoid this Hotel as not recommendable , price over charged , not value for money.
Staff extremely unhelpful and very rude. No manners or after care service. They take cash only and no mention of extra 5% Surcharge on advert.
Very quick to take people’s money but after care customer care NON EXISTENT
Had to leave on the very first night due to being bitten very severely by the carpet and bed bugs.

avoid like the plague !!! told them I couldn't make my date for a good reason. still demanded the full payment. if I couldn't make it for financial reasons then what gives you the right to take money out my account and send me over my overdraft !!!! company's like you don't deserve custom. i would have been willing to pay sonething but taking the full amount is disgusting !!!!!! so glad I didn't make it!!! must of been fait! hope your happy with yourself now my 3 kids suffer ! wish there was

Disgusting. Dirty small rooms. Broken tiles in shower. Unhelpfully staff. Breakfast was horrid. Stained sheets and towels.

Ended up with the flu and had to stay an extra night in Edinburgh. Trying to stay within budget, I opted for the Merith House, which was the only budget offering with vacancies. All of the staff at this hotel were unpleasant, and the building they put me in was run down and freezing cold. I had already explained that I was sick, yet had to ask repeatedly for some heat, and the following morning, for someone to address the fact that all the taps were ice cold. When I followed up with the manager afterwards, he refused to apologize and said that that's how it is with old buildings. Worst hotel stay ever!

WiFi was rather weak in the room that I was given, and I was unable to get a cell reception. Room itself is rather nice. We got a twin room with shared bathrooms. Facilities are good. Breakfast provided for £3.50. There's a bus stop right outside with a service that arrives every 15 minutes and it takes around 15 minutes to get to the city
