Went to a wedding here recently and it was perfect. Staff were great and so helpful. Thanks for making my friends day even more special!

Lovely food for veggies and meat eaters alike. Really nice atmosphere. Great outside seating. Only improvement would be a larger variety of modern beers on tap, but that's just me being fussy.

The Ancient Mariner is one of the last good pubs in Brighton & Hove that have a good vibe to it. This is because of the staff's hard work to drive the pub in the right direction, Jim the manager is really good at his job and will help you as the customer with any problems you may have. His bar team are a fantastic team that will always deliver a good customer service standard, but also in busy times make sure you are not waiting for a long period of time at the bar. The food is excellent and is run by a good team in the kitchen because the food is always represented on the plate well and tastes fantastic. If you are looking for a nice meal throughout the week or looking for a couple of drinks on the Friday this needs to be a place you should visit and of course you can not forget about their roast dinners on a Sunday; they are up there with my personal top 3 places to go.
