One of the best hospital in dubai which comes in my mind first when looking for good specialist doctors.

I came to Dubai to spend 4 days in business and I had a sudden emergency yesterday without much time available but the reception in ER was very courteous and helpful.. I was treated by GP Dr. Mohammed AlAzzawi, and he is a person you will never forget for his friendly, informative, dedicated and compassionate attitude. He put me thru initial testing and examinations. He diagnosed my case and put me to medication. Thank you Dr. Azzawi.. I'm sure you kept all your vows and I was lucky to meet you yesterday. You are a great professional with magnitude of values that are not much available in our world now.. I wish you all the best in your career and life.. Teach others because you are a genuine person and doctor. Thanks to the Mediclinic Welcare Hospital for their great service and treatment.

Mediclinic WellCare is a highly unprofessional hospital with highly unprofessional and rude doctors. I have routinely waited for over 30 mins to an hour to see doctors at this hospital despite having confirmed appointments. It seems to be standard for patients at this hospital to wait while the Doctors routinely run behind schedule. And till date, I have never heard a word of apology from any Doctor at this hospital for being late. Funny enough, once I was late by 3 mins (reached Doctor's office at 1448 instead of my appointment time of 1445), and the Doctor (Dr. Samir Shirodkar) refused to conduct the consultation. Moreover, he was extremely rude and visibly angry that I was late (3 mins). It was shocking to experience this one-sided equation (patient's time vs. doctor's time).

I made a formal complaint about this situation to Mediclinic. I subsequently received a call from another Doctor (Dr. Mohamed I think, not sure) highlighting that he received my complaint and he did an investigation on behalf of the hospital. His conclusion was that I was the one at fault as the doctor was expecting me at 1430, thereby implying that I was 18 mins late. As far as I remember, and I have an SMS confirmation from Mediclinic, my appointment was for 1445. I never booked the appointment at1430, nor did I ever agree to change the timing. When I asked the Medical officer to review the appointment system to verify the situation, he refused to do so and told me "I can only tell you what's written in this email from Dr. Samir". That's how pathetic a response I received for my complaint. I wasted over an hour of my time to make the trip back and forth only to be turned back by a Doctor who can not manage his schedule. And then another 30 mins making a complaint and dealing with the pathetic customer service.

In summary, Mediclinic wellcare and its doctors take patients for granted. In my opinion, going to mediclinic WellCare only makes sense if one is willing to pay the price for a service that is going to be delivered as per the service provider's wishes. Customer in this case has no rights and no value. I would highly discourage anyone from visiting this hospital.

[Additional Background: Dr. Samir's office called me that morning asking if I could come earlier at 1430. I categorically declined that request and told his nurse that I won't be able to make it at 1430. I even asked her to cancel my 1445 appointment if that will not work for the doctor. At this point, I was told that its fine, 1445 would still work for the Doctor, which clearly wasn't the case.

It seems that the Doctor asked his office to move my appointment to 1430, and assumed that the appointment got rescheduled, and therefore, took out his anger / frustration at me for the delay. Only issue - I didn't agree to making it to his office at 1430. In the end, I am glad I didn't see this unprofessional Doctor.]

We had to visit the emergency here on a brief stop over in the middle of our trip from USA to India due to an accident my son had at the hotel. We were promptly attended to and the doctor was patient enough to listen to us, explain our options and their consequences. My son had to have stitches that were very well done and we were in and out in an hour or so, in time to catch our next flight. Their charges seemed a little over the top even by US standards, but for the level of care provided in such a delicate situation, I would treat that as secondary
