A condominuim ťype of hotel. Budget friendly. Clean. Guest friendly staffs. Two things that needs improvement, 1. Intercom not working 2. Our room was not cleaned when we requested, miscommunication. Over all stay, we were satisfied.

We chanced upon Hotel La Fe when we were looking for a place to stay overnight in Baguio last May 21,2016. We were initially booked in another hotel but the reservations clerk accidentally cancelled our booking and we were left with no place to stay the night. Several events were being held in Baguio that day thus inns, pension and transient houses and hotels (budget and expensive alike) were all fully booked. Luckily for us, a staff in one of the hotels we approached advised us to check out Hotel Lafe.

PROS

1. STAFF
The hotel staff are amiable, helpful and readily approachable. We needed 5 rooms for the entire entourage and we would really hoping to stay in adjacent rooms. The frontdesk staff was very accommodating and made it possible for the entire family to occupy all the available rooms on the second floor. Five stars for that!

2. LOCATION
Hotel Lafe is actually a condo-type hotel. It is along Magsaysay Ave. making easily accessible by public transport. Mostly night owls our group decided to check out the Night Market on our first night and spent just a little over P100. (less than $2) on taxi fares to and from the hotel to the center market. This is a plus point if you wish to explore the city and would rather just leave your car in the hotel parking lot. With increasing local population and large number of tourist visiting the Summer Capital, traffic along major roads can be a source headache. You're in Baguio to relax and enjoy not to be stressed out. Just to be on the safe side don't leave any valuables inside your parked vehicle.

3. ROOM
We got a room with a view of the street and the houses on the mountain tops. According to my 8 year old niece the houses on the hills looked like blinking Christmas lights. Our room is big enough to accommodate three adults, a child and a puppy. Us, ladies and the pup slept on the bed and my nephew slept on the extra mattress on the floor. Note that Hotel La Fe is a budget hotel so don't expect a big room with luxurious bed and fluffy feather pillows. But the bed is comfortable enough to sleep on and the sheets and the pillowcases were clean. Cleanliness is high above on our checklIst. Towels, a roll of tissue paper and bars of small individually wrapped soap were also provided for.

4. PRICE
Room rates are very affordable. It also comes with free breakfast of your choice. Just make sure you bring enough cash as they don't accept credit card payments. :(

5.AMENITIES
A bar and a restaurant is located on the roofdeck for chilling out. There's a mini store on the ground floor. Their version of 24hrs. convenience store. Lastly, should you forget to bring enough or ran out of cash, there's an ATM machine within the building.

CONS

1. Does not accept credit card payment. Most travellers would rather carry with them them their credit cards than big amount of cash. It's safer this way and more practical. I hope that the Management can do something about their payment policy.

2. NO ELEVATORS. There were old people travelling with us on that particular trip and it was just disappointing that we had to carry them up the second floor using the narrow stairs. Thankfully we were just on the second floor. It would have been an altogether different story if our rooms were on the higher floors. Sadly, the hotel is not PWD (Person with Disability) and senior friendly.

3. Just some words of caution, if you're the type of person who needs total silence in order to sleep soundly or a very light sleeper, DO NOT get a room with a view of the street. The rooms are not soundproofed and there are no A/Cs. You will have to open the windows to let the cool mountain air in. During nigh time the noise from passing cars and the occassional wailing of sirens from police and ambulance cars might just keep you awake all night long.

All said, we had a wonderful stay and would not mind staying here again on future visits to Baguio.

Thank you, Hotel Lafe, from one satisfied and happy customer. :)
