I loved sitting in this shop at the top floor coffee house. Perfect atmosphere, good coffee, and interesting reading material. Their black drip coffee was spot on and you get a refill. Bathroom's provided to customers and wifi is available and strong.

Great variety of coffee and sweets, very friendly staff. My go-to place for either a quick coffee or an afternoon with friends or study partners. ☕

Good coffee. You can find this chain throughout town. The baristas were very nice.

Nice tea, friendly staff, lots of seats. My favorite in downtown Reykjavik.

Huge outpost of the local Te og Kaffi (aka Te & Kaffi; trans: Tea and Coffee) chain hidden within the big Eymundsson bookstore. 15-20 tables and a long bar spread across the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, plus another dozen tables on an outdoor patio at the 3rd floor level. A few outlets, but hard to reach, and most tables don't have access. Open wi-fi with no password. Music at inaudible volume. Brightly lit by natural light from glass walls and (for 3rd floor) ceiling. Clientile is a busy mixture of tourists, students, and local professionals. As with other Te og Kaffi's, a big selection of good quality loose leaf teas, including a good chai. Here they give you a teapot with the leaves in a strainer, so you can get a refill on hot water. I also tried their chai latte, which is made from a mix which is OK but not great. Big selection of pastries (heavy on cookies) as well as sandwiches, yogurt, etc.
