this is the first yoga studio i have been to that no longer provides cups for water. They used to but took them away WITHOUT notification. Had i known that i would've come better prepared for a class i nearly passed out midway. I actually left the room to ask for water nearly at the point of collapse due to low blood pressure. something a sip of water would've resolved. The staff (seeing that i was not able to stand without holding onto something) directed me to the second floor without letting me know cups were no longer provided. They finally told me when i limped back to the first floor that cups were no longer provided without showing any concern. Ended up going down another flight of stairs to drink water from the washroom tap. Will not be returning. My favourite Pilates teacher Aniela also teaches at Mindful Movement Centre which is where I will be going to from now on.

Such a lovely, peaceful space, good selection of classes and everyone is so welcoming and friendly

Hands down, the best yoga studio I've ever set foot in. From the first time I visited, the staff has been nothing but friendly and welcoming...every, single, one! Their teachers are all so encouraging and knowledgeable. The studio itself is beautiful and the vibe is soothing yet energizing...if that makes sense :) It's on the pricier side but 100% worth it. Try their 40-day intro pass and you'll be hooked!

This studio is not what it used to be anymore. Most of my favourite classes have either been changed or moved. The late cancellation fee has been doubled. After 2 years of being a regular member here, today was the first time I was barred from entering a class because I was 1 minute late, even though I greeted the teacher and signed in just 3 minutes before. Then the very next day, different class, the instructor was 3 minutes late. Don't have a "strict policy" if not all of your classes can start on time.

889 Yoga is a sanctuary in the middle of the busy city. The environment is calming and serene, and my tension immediately dissolves when I walk in the door. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, warm and approachable. There is a great variety of classes on offer which caters to a diversity ages and levels of ability. As a beginner yogi, this was really important since classes can sometimes be intimidating. I also love how committed 889 is to mindfulness and energy work. They have elevated their company from being another "yoga studio" to fostering an entire community of people who are committed to living happier, more present and grounded lives through mindfulness, gratitude and energy work. I'm also a little obsessed with their retail...they curate the most amazing, carefree essential clothing and accessories.
