Fantastic beer selection, incredible atmosphere (BUSY), lots of cool stuff all over the walls and nice nibbles to eat with the beer. Had the novelty Max of the house - hilarious and full of delicious beer...so worth the temporary loss of a shoe. Definitely don't give this place a miss if you're around town and like Belgian beer!

Great place to stop and have a beer. Order the Max and they put your shoe in a basket over the bar so you don't steal the gorgeous glass. Over 500 different bottled beers available.

Nothing special except the insanely long list of beers they have in stock. If you're a beer tourist or some kind of connoisseur, I can understand coming here. But I was offered no advice, simply given the list of beers and had to choose one blindly. I ordered a beer and asked for a glass of water, which was apparently an otherworldly request-denied. The guy had zero personality and clearly no concept of tipping in other cultures (or just doesn't want to make money). As an American, I would have left him 20%, which is my standard at a bar. But due to the experience he got nothing. Say all you want about how this isn't America and that I should respect the local culture-true to an extent, but it's the service industry. Customers go to have a positive experience. If the server had any clue what he was doing he'd have faked a smile, offered a word of advice and given me a sip of tap water knowing the chances of a tip are higher with Americans. It's also cash only. And the kicker-the place was completely dead. You can get amazing beer everywhere in Belgium. Will not be back, and I don't recommend it to fellow travelers.
